Behind the Lens is a creative outlet for my photography. I try to post often, but I just can't seem to get into the "once a day" thing. I post stuff that I like or images that I would like to get some feedback on. The rest is relegated to my growing electronic storage never to see the light of day again.

About me? My name is Brett and I am an IT geek by day managing distributed systems for a large Canadian company. By night I like to process images, manage a couple of other blogs and host other people's websites.

My main photographic interest is in photographing architecture. I guess this comes from my university career in architecture and urban planning. I am not sure what it is about photographing built spaces, I just find it to be a great way to relax. I am known to dabble with some portraiture and movie-stills and would like to do more of that in the future. If you want some environmental portraits and live in and around the Southern Ontario area why not look me up.

Most of the work that you'll see on the blog has been photographed digital with my Nikon D300 or Nikon D70, but occasionally you'll see some medium format work taken on my Mamiya RB67. I am considering going large-format, but we'll see how that goes.

I am making all my work available in limited (50 print) editions, I personally make each print and their are each individually singed and numbered by me. I also include a certificate of authenticity with each image.
